When her boyfriend, Pete, doesn't want to go to a party, Denise Taylor decides to go without him. The party turns out to be lots of fun. Everyone there is so warm and friendly -- especially Billy. He barely leaves her side all evening! Denise tries to tell him about Pete, but before she can he kisses her.

Knowing she loves Pete, Denise thinks nothing of the kiss. But when word of the incident gets back to Pete, it doesn't sound nearly as innocent as it was. He breaks up with Denise without even giving her a chance to explain. Denise thought Pete's love was for real -- but if it were, wouldn't he be willing to hear her side of the story?
