This is the magical story of eight-year old Kimberly who may not be well, but she just knows that she will get better, even though she is in hospital and the doctors give her no hope. One day she gets a visitor who shows her a secret door through which she can see a wonderful new world, but she is not allowed to enter. A large, colourful butterfly from this new world visits her, and Kimberly knows it is really an angel come to cure her illness. Her Mummy does not believe her, and her doctors scorn her, when she says she is getting better, but they are soon amazed at the rapid improvement in their patient. She is determined to have her own way and has such a strong will that she begins to annoy the doctor, who is only too pleased to send her home. When she goes back to school, life is very different for Kimberly because she learns that she has new powers given to her by the butterfly-angel, she begins to use them to help others.
