Katie and Roland Roberts have made powerful enemies since saving the spirit of Sarah Wheeler. The warlock Creed, trapped between the spiritual and mortal worlds, continues his quest to attain a flesh-and-blood body -- and the dark magic that comes with his return to life.

Joined in his quest by his brother Olin, a powerful warlock in his own right, Creed seeks a mysterious artifact known as the Secret of Life, but finds his every move countered by Katie, Roland, and their magical allies.

In anger and desperation, Olin and Creed gamble on a dangerous plan: abducting the Roberts' son Josh and hiding the boy in Terra Demorte -- the Land of the Dead. If the other residents of the evil land discover their plan, the warlocks will be executed -- along with the Roberts' bloodline.

Now the Roberts, the good witch Wisteria, and the dark assassin Thor find themselves in a race to rescue Josh before the boy's presence in Terra Demorte is discovered. To save his son, Roland will do anything -- even make deals with the inhabitants of the Land of the Dead. Of course, such deals have a way of coming back to haunt a person.
