Journey to No End — Charles Whiting

A professional revolutionary is sent to help a group of working men holding an important factory from going into the hands of East Germany. He soon realises that even though he has no political interest in the revolt, a series of incidents involve him deeply in the need for the factory to be returned back into Western hands. Having lost his faith during the Spanish Civil War he finds it again in the revolt of these working men: this time his faith is not in politics but in people?
