Journey to Bom Goody — Karen Heuler

A retired electronics salesman decides to journey up the Amazon River to conduct a private social experiment by dropping off VCRs, cassette tapes, and portable generators to increasingly isolated natives. Also a widower, he meets an attractive ethnobotanist, whose private goals on the Azmazon are as dubious as his. The final results offer a wondrous cautionary tale for contemporary America.
