Joe Useless — Dennis Reader

Bernard Blossom longs to have an exciting dog for a pet instead of his boring tortoise. He is delighted when his mother and father give him a dog as a surprise. Bernard calls him Joe and is eager to show him off - but Joe has a fat little body and short legs and can't jump and catch a ball.
