Interlude in Arcady — Margery Hilton

When Nicola agreed to accompany Marcus Hillary to Arcady, his hideout in the Yorkshire moors, because he wanted peace and quiet in which to finish his new play, she suspected that his real reason for flight was to escape yet another of the predatory females who seemed to romp through his life. The situation in which Nicola found herself, however, could hardly be described as Arcadian. She thought she could cope with most things, but when the predatory females began to descend upon Arcady, why did she suddenly find herself beginning to mind?
