Rationing on groceries, gas, and supplies is implemented, and Defiants can be imprisoned or killed for breaking the rules. There is no justice, no courts, no jury of peers to decide the Defiant's fate - the decision lies within the officials of the new regime, who have executed Defiants for trying to sustain their basic human needs.Knowing the ultimate consequence is death for failing to comply, people are forced to make decisions - do they give up freedoms under the new regime and avoid prison or execution? Or do they fight back, forming a great uprise to get the nation back to the way it was before the new regime took office?
