Kathryn Ellerbee, image consultant, had to create a salable look for Darryl Sledge, anchorman of a new public affairs show about to break into the television ratings. And she tried to make her initial study of him without his knowledge.

Instead she unwittingly attracted her subject's attention, and then fell victim to the full force of Sledge's charismatic charm. Talk about first impressions!
