Ilsa and Blue — Tim Niederriter

Ilsa Barrett and her partner,  the gregarious mindeater Blue, travel to the great plateau where Ilsa was born. To outsiders they appears to be mercenaries, come to fight in the war brewing between Ilsa's home city of Dal and the city on the other side of the plateau, but they are wrong. Ilsa, Blue, and their allies must outrace the onrush of war to rescue a woman who may prove the key to peace.

The mysterious monuments called the Ten Lyres have seen much bloodshed in the past, but is more inevitable?
