After seeking help from an old friend, Crispin finds himself being held prisoner against his will by his own kind. His loyalty is tested as those he thought he could always trust are now against him.

Annabel and the others dragons are searching throughout the city, hoping to find some trace of where he went. She turns to Mark, believing he knows something about Crispin's disappearance. When he proves to be as knowledgeable as her, they devise a new plan to bring back Crispin even if it is the last thing Mark wants to do.
