Songs of Sangr captures the adventures of Sangr as he finally embarks on an adventure that was once merely a dream. Not sure of what really lies ahead of the brutally cold terrain he is used to, Sangr forges forward because he can no longer return home. He soon faces his first challenge when, desperate for warmth and food, he comes across a trading caravan in Merchandise. He joins them against fearsome monsters but comes to realise that monsters can hide in any type of skin. If he wants to live, Sangr, soon after, has no choice but to join a group of rebels, in Qalnoth's Favor, seeking to end the tyrannical rule of a religious sect of magical telepaths. It's during this he first meets Yella, soon discovering more about her after stealing the Eye of Qalnoth. Fast becoming friends they have a protege in Gina, a magician on a mission, who uses Sangr's and Yella's telepathy to understand and develop her own powers. Her demon army go to battle, on Hell's Gate, doing her bidding and wreaking havoc, allowing her to momentarily take the Tyrant's castle. In Meluz, wanting to remove the curse of Gina, Sangr and Yella search for the bane and discover they have to storm the fortress city of Tengut or take it by stealth. But Sangr realises this is easier said than done, when the bane is a young and extremely attractive concubine of the city's ruler, as he does his best to keep his feelings about her from Yella. In Summerland they travel to a magical jungle to free it from a curse by the Mage Lords. But before they can, they have to fight their way into the Mage Lords' lair. In Green Hell, Sangr is out for blood. A sorcerer has kidnapped Yella and Sangr is going to find her at all costs. The only problem is, the sorcerer is hidden in the depths of yet another magical jungle, into which Sangr carves his way, only to find little satisfaction at the end of it.
