The well-known illustrator of the Angelina Ballerina series now lends her signature style to a collection of 54 traditional and familiar nursery rhymes (all neatly listed in a clever table of contents that is part rebus). Most of the rhymes sit side by side on a white background with lightly colored spot illustrations or two or three panels of drawings; a few others appear on double-page spreads--the old woman who lived in a shoe, for example. The result is a gentle, airy book set in a peaceful English landscape where multiethnic parents and children coexist with fantasy creatures and anthropomorphized animals.
