Danny and Marylou had had a date, and it had gone well. He sent her a bundle of roses. I was in love with her, but thought Danny had won her hand! In speaking to Danny, he said he had intended the roses to be a joke. Appalled, I wrote a song called Just a Bundle of Roses. In the song, the girl dies. We all worked in the same company. The boss told Danny and me Marylou had suddenly been taken to the hospital. I was worried. Had she hurt herself? I rushed to the hospital to find out how she was!
