House of Dreams — Louise Bergstrom

Virginia Stuart has the opportunity to visit a posh island resort and do a favor for a friend. It seems that Virginia's best buddy, Tiffany, is worried about her grandfather, Harry Evans. He has just married a beautiful woman, Claudia whose last husband died a very mysterious death. Tiffany is afraid that the new bride will try to kill Harry, and she asks Virginia to travel to the island where the couple is honeymooning and keep an eye of Grandpa.

Harry's new wife is rumored to have an accomplice in her dirty deeds, a man Virginia soon dubs Mr. X. He could be any number of men on the island, including the seemingly sympathetic, David Gardner. David says he's an artist, but he can't paint very well. Still, despite her suspicions, Virginia soon finds herself taking more than a casual interest.

Can Virginia save Harry (and herself) from the very real danger? And will the information she needs to save her life also break her heart?
