L.A. private eye Mike Faraday is engaged by wealthy Sheila Danbridge to trace her missing husband, George. As Mike, assisted by his cool, blonde secretary Stella, hunts for the elusive Danbridge, others are interested too - including a mysterious figure who flits through the tangled web, murdering in the dark, shooting without warning. Is he the missing Danbridge? Or is there something even darker and more evil at the centre of the case?
