Hot Pies on the Tramcar — Sheila Newberry

Florence's hot pies are sold from the aptly named Paradise Pie Shop. They are legendary, not only with the tramcar operator but also the hard-up and hungry during the Depression years. Warm-hearted Florence is the mainstay at home too. In her mainly female household there also lives Manny, a casualty of the First World War.
