Joelle Parker graduated from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing, FIDM, in Los Angeles, but after designing her fill of sportswear, she's inspired to apply her artistic skills and create a wonderfully romantic honeymoon hotel from her family's majestic Victorian home in Mirasol, California. Her Aunt Dinah becomes her partner, but gives her only six months to make a success of the imaginative enterprise.
Rick Keene is a citrus rancher whose family has also lived in Mirasol for several generations. He's a handsome young man who prefers riding a horse to driving a tractor, and he's delighted to find Joelle's fancy hotel so close to home. He describes his fiancée as a successful Santa Barbara attorney who can't spare the time to plan their wedding herself.
Joelle finds it increasingly difficult to imagine Rick will be happy with a woman who refuses to be bothered with the details of her own wedding. Dinah cautions her niece not to fall in love with every good looking man who comes through the front door. Joelle, however, believes keeping Rick from making a disastrous marriage should be one of the primary services of the Honeymoon Hotel.
