Holly Jolly Vampire — Melisse Aires

Darci and River were friends and colleagues once, before the brutal vampire attack that changed River forever. Darci takes a job in Encanto Bay, working on the newly formed Human and Othernatural Task Force. She hopes she can make a difference.

River was transformed into a vampire during the same incident where Darci was attacked. Despite the overwhelming changes, he still loves Darci and desires to be part of her life, even as just a friend. He knows being a vampire now, they don't have a future as anything more than friends.

They meet on Christmas Eve at the Encanto Bay Cafe and decide to go somewher quieter and talk. They hear the wail of a tiny baby.
