Jed Herne came to the rescue of Mary Anne Marie and her girls whilst on the trail of a gang of bank robbers who'd been posing as a minister and his two sons. Madam Mary Ann Marie offered Herne the Hunter the job of bodyguard to her five 'soiled doves' and able to combine this new post with trailing the gang - Herne accepted.
