This book is set five years on from the second Jane Doe novel, Severance Packages. Jane's first Cold Case involves an MP's daughter's recent death. He disagrees with the first coroner's verdict of accidental death. The second autopsy reveals that she was murdered. At the same time, Jane's husband, Oliver Tarrant is dealing with a young heart transplant recipient, who is having nightmares of being murdered and Steve Ho is investigating the murder of an eminent heart transplant surgeon, dumped in a local lake.
