Gerontology seems and unlikely career path for someone as young and vibrant as nurse-social worker Darcy Lewis, but a tireless devotion to her once sprightly, caring grandmother makes working with the elderly a natural and richly rewarding choice. Darcy brings some fantastic programs to the Good Shepherd Nursing Home and the Towering Oaks Retirement Village. Their patients welcome her into their lives and thrive on the creativity Darcy inspires with her writing workshop. It's an unwelcome and unwarranted jolt when the handsome "young whippersnapper" Dr. Luke Randall joins the staff, only to misunderstand and call a halt to their pet project.

But it doesn't take long for Luke to come around. Darcy's persistence and the forthright, indignant protests of the participants remind him of the value of the memories and experiences the older people share. Both Darcy and Luke understand the wisdom that comes with age, and together they come to learn a truth their patients obviously already know: the timeless joy and ageless beauty of love.
