Guardians of the Shroud — Scott Richards

Fight to survive. Live to protect. On the run from an abusive home, teenage empath Josh Garenger is taken in by the Guardians, a group of super-powered teens. He mistakenly believes the worst is behind him. As a member of this secret order of wayward psychics, Josh is expected to help defend an invisible barrier called the Shroud. No one knows who created the barrier, but it separates our world from nightmarish creatures waiting on the other side. When the occasional shroud beast slips through a weakness and into our world, that's when the Guardians step in. But Josh's powers aren't up to the task. Despite his training, he's not what he should be, causing the team to doubt his place among them. When an unseen killer begins hunting Guardians down one-by-one, Josh must find the murderer and the strength to defend the Guardians, or everything he's fought so hard for could be lost.
