Gillian Wright was very, very superstitious -- and when in one day she managed first to walk under a ladder and second to turn a particularly unlucky spinning wheel she was ready for trouble. The legend attached to the spinning wheel foretold either sudden death or marriage within three months! And as her boyfriend Nick Raven showed no signs of wanting to marry her at any time, the outlook for Gillian didn't look too good.
