After an unhappy romance, Gwen McAllister, a talented young artist, spends the summer working in her aunt's Colorado gift shop. At first Gwen has high hopes of pulling her life together again in this charming mountain town, with its lovely surrounding scenery. But then she meets Roger Markham, a skillful wood-carver whose rugged good looks attract her. Soon Gwen is puzzled by Roger's secretiveness and his insistence that she's spying on him.
