The last time Commander Gideon of the Yard had seen fog like it, he was just a lad. Clean air policies had more or less banished the thick, impenetrable, chokingly sulphurous fumes of old…until now. Sat in his car, enveloped, Gideon spied a gleam of light from across the common and alarm rose in him. What had he seen? What sort of misdeeds did the fog conceal? Elsewhere in London that night, others are moving in the murky air â€" a league of militants, determined to clear the city's parks of promiscuity and shameless abandon.
