Only two people knew that George was the funniest little man in the whole world and that he used foul language.

Benjamin Dickinson Carr knew because George lived inside of him, and Ben's brother Howard knew because outside of Ben, he was the only other person George spoke to. George was useful to both of them, to a point. And then he became a nuisance. It was when he was being the most pesty that Benjamin got into the most trouble.
