The Girlpower Agency for Office Temporaries wasn't enthusiastic about the job at the small public relations firm of Cruikshank, Inc., but Pat Fravel felt anything would be better than sitting around brooding about how Colin Lee had jilted her. It was true there was nothing very interesting about clerical work at Cruikshank's, but Pat's co-workers were another story. There was the boss's handsome son, Jack Jr., eager to show her around town... and brash young writer Fritz Davidson, eager to help her solve the mystery of working the switchboard. Then an overheard phone call and a misplaced wallet made Pat aware of another kind of mystery. She began to suspect that public relations wasn't the firm's only business. But when she tried to follow up her suspicions, she walked straight into danger...
