The following are excerpts of comments made by a family with 6 children. They read it together, and these were comments reported to me by the mother: "Don't stop Read more -- (a small child said) The aliens are like God; they give us another chance to be good. -- Can we read that story again tonight? -- (a 10 year old boy said) We have to train our minds to think like God wants us to think -- It really is a good story -- (same 10 year old boy) Wow What a story (Mother) The storyline itself is rivoting. The kids never want me to stop and beg for "Just one more chapter " -- This would be a great film too (Mother) As the pages diminish, I'm getting that "Oh no, it's over" feeling that one gets at the end of really great books. There are lots of layers and levels of both action/storyline and meaning.
