Lonely Terror!

Diana had fled New York with its dark memories. But now in the Connecticut town where she sought to build a new life, a specter more terrifying than anything in the past haunted her.

First came the gruesome deaths of people around her. Then came the suspicious actions of the handsome doctor with whom Diana had fallen in love. And now Diana knew that someone was stalking her, waiting for the chance to catch her alone and off-guard, waiting to kill her.

But the true horror was that no matter what she said or did to prove her life was in danger, no one but her murderer would believe her...

THE LAST REFUGE

Diana threw herself on the dusty floor and put her ear against the trapdoor that led to the attic where she had fled. She was sweating in the airless place and her breath was ragged and so loud in her ears that she felt sure anyone standing below would hear her.

She heard footsteps coming up the attic stairs, bold and confident. Then someone called out her name in an eerie, unrecognizable voice.

“Diana. I'm coming, Diana. I'll find you. I'll find you. You won't get away this time.”
