Laurie had seen him in movie magazines all her life - Skipper Simpson, child star - and now he was a junior at Monroe High. As reporter for the school paper, it was her job to get the full scoop on this heartthrob of the silver screen.

Everyone kept telling her that she was lucky to get a chance to meet Skip, but as far as Laurie was concerned he was a Hollywood has-been, and probably conceited too. No way was she going to ask him for his autograph and hang all over him like everyone else.
