He escaped from concentration camps created by the British during the Second Boer War.
He witnessed systematic destruction of crops, the slaughtering of people and livestock.
He watched the burning of homesteads and farms, the poisoning of water wells, the salting of the earth to subdue a nation and quash their resistance.
Disease, starvation, murder and rape added fuel to the flames.
But the real horror that the British created was a ten year old boy who became a cannibalistic killer.
