When a mysterious message arrives from Earth, Petra Peña, Earth’s last Cuentista, embarks on a treacherous journey across the galaxy in order to author the ending of her own story by bringing Earth’s stories home. But to do so, she must form an alliance with an old adversary who has also received the message. One young girl is her only hope to see if the evil Collective has reformed, or simply evolved to a new threat to the last humans on Earth.
