In order to give her old family doctor a chance for a needed vacation, Diana Davis abandoned her plans to practice in a clinic near Los Angeles and flew to Florida. She was to be met at the airport by Dr. Timothy Henry, the elderly Dr. Eldred's colleague with whom Diana was to work.
And nothing could have been more surprising than Diana's first sight of Tim Henry, nor his of her. She had imagined him to be middle-ages and brusque instead of a young and darkly attractive; his concept of a female doctor was swept to the winds by Diana's blonde loveliness and charm.
But before Diana met Tim, she was introduced to a man on the plane who was to play an important role in her new life. Lex Clydon was chairman of the board of Melissa Clydon Memorial Hospital, a beautiful modern institution that catered only to wealthy patients. And since this hospital was the closet one to Dr. Eldred's office, Diana was soon to realize that a real problem existed in getting regular patients admitted there instead of sending them thirty miles to another hospital.
Tim was all for joining Diana in her fight against Dr. Clydon's methods, but his actions did not coincide with his words. And although Diana was becoming romantically interested in Tim, she had to face the fact that she was alone in her struggle to see a code of ethics restored to Melissa Clydon Memorial.
