For over fifty years, there were no less than 638 schemes and/or attempts by the mafia and/or the CIA and/or other groups and organizations to rid Cuba of its dictator. All failed, and most failed miserably. He outlived and/or outlasted 10 United States presidents and boasts the longest communist controlled government in the western hemisphere. He wants a relationship of respect and understanding between the U.S. and his island country just ninety miles off the coast of Florida. But, for him, time is running out.
From an early age, he was always a leader, and seemed to win, regardless of the game. That winning spirit carried over into his adult life. But after seeing the corruption of the government first hand, he decided to do something about it. His first attempt to overthrow the Cuban government failed miserably, and resulted in a fifteen year prison term for him and his followers. But, thank God for an Archbishop. After a presidential pardon, he took up where he left off, and five and a half years later, he overthrew the Cuban government, ran all the mobsters out of the country and nationalized all the U.S. corporations. Being snubbed by the United States government, he allied with the Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War and his small island country brought the world closer to the brink of nuclear disaster than it had ever been before. He single-handedly changed the course of history, not only of a small island nation in the Caribbean, but he forever changed the course of world history.
