The War Between the States was over. Lee Coburn, a young man from the mountains of Appalachia, had managed to survive the devastating battles, as had his brother, Hawk. Wanting to leave the memories of that war behind him, Lee sets off to make a new life for himself out west. He dreams of having his own land one day, starting a family, and living a peaceful life.
