Simon is a 35-year-old, out-of-work New Age mythologist who inadvertently always ends up working for scam artists. When he lands a job with a company that sells platinum-plated golf putters, all goes well until his rival, another salesman at the company, turns up dead with a platinum-plated golf putter rammed down his throat and all the evidence points to Simon. Trying to solve the murder, Simon enlists the help of his Grandma Louise, a channeler from Venice Beach, as well as a Druid rune caster, an astrologer, and the ghost of a famous pro golfer. Using spiritual clues and his knowledge of mythology and ancient Eastern religions, Simon baffles detectives who can't understand how he stays one step ahead of them.
