Elizabeth Gold is one of the top Private Investigators in Hollywood. She is often used by the very particular Telford Vickers, a major producer. She is inspired by a fear of failing, the same trait she looks for in those who work with her.

She's been hired to find a particular minor actor who seems to have disappeared. Vickers thinks he would be a perfect cast in a movie he is considering.
