Election Night:
Could you rig a general election? What impulse would be strong enough? After economic turmoil and losing wars, the government is hugely unpopular. A general election is called. Opinion polls predict a clear outcome, but a real campaign makes voters think twice. The Prime Minister is a strong campaigner. The opposition leader is more untested. A well-placed journalist, financier and police officer want to make sure of the election's result. They set about manipulating events, perceptions and opinions to try to frame the outcome. It's hard but they learn. The election is the centre of national attention, and there are key professionals whose job it is to make sure it runs fairly. The secret guardians start to suspect the secret manipulators are at work. Behind the politicians' contest for votes, there develops the contest for control. In this election, who will win? Government or opposition? Guardians or manipulators? Of all the people contesting for what they want, both openly and secretly, whose motivation will be the strongest and most true?
