Collecting the introductory storyline of the dark-humored epic, this three-in-one volume spoofs horror and heroic fantasy. Dungeon is the looniest fantasy world imaginable and volume one starts with a mighty castle filled with monsters, trolls, and goblins kept by a wily bird, named the Dungeon Keeper. Herbert the Timorous Duck and his vegetarian warrior friend, Marvin the Dragon, are assigned to defend it. Volume two tells the tale of Herbert's fictitious Barbarian Princess who lures hapless warriors to the Dungeon, and how she turns out to be all too real. In volume three, Isis is engaged to the Dungeon Keeper but she wants to marry Herbert. Meanwhile, Herbert wishes to return to his hometown, despite having left on bad terms. He disguises himself with a potion that applies the mask of death to his countenance and will remain that way unless he laughs.
