In between bouts of passion with Tom from the plumbers' co-operative, and frantic, if ineffective, dusting, Dulcie manages to get on with a few chapters of the raunchy novel she's writing, pacify her errant spouse, and just about cope with two of the most obstreperous children in Cranford Gardens.
