These were the Disposables -- on a deep-jungle suicide mission in a war they never made
SGT. HAGGERTY: “Winning? Sure we are. First North Vietnam hacked a Ho Chi-Minh Trail though here. Then a road. Now it's a Boulevard. Are we winning? Man, you better believe it…”
SGT. JOHNSON: “Expendable, hell. We're disposables. Kleenex. The use us and throw us away…:
LT. EDWARDS: “ Did it occur to you, Sergeant, I might have a good military reason for giving you that particular order?”
SGT. GAMMON: “No sire. Not for one goddam minute.”
Together -- bitter, angry, confused -- these four men set out with 40 Vietcong turncoats on a raid that could bring them one bright moment of glory -- or blot them out forever in a land plunged in darkness…
