A demented millionaire is convinced his awful son will be kidnapped for ransom. As the result of a bizarre chain of circumstances (There is a very beautiful woman involved.) the ebulliant Hooky Heffernan finds himself acting as companion and and guard to the boy in a remote house.
Hooky is drawn, as usual, is drawn to the nearest inn, where he makes his usual casual acquaintances, in the usual way. This gives Laurance Meynell a chance to exercise his amusing gift for barroom conversation that is much like the real thing - but better and funnier.
