She's the puppy nobody wants

One night in early spring, a shivering wet bundle lands on Mackenzie's bed. He peers in the darkness to see what it is. Splotches of white. A cold, dry poke of a nose. And the thump, thump, thump of a tail. A puppy! "Cash," he calls her, and from that moment on, boy and dog share a bond neither has ever felt before. Never mind what everybody says about pit bulls. Cash is a good dog. Mack just knows it.

But Mack's dad has a mean temper, and before long he's mad. Deaf to Mack's cries, he dumps Cash in the middle of nowhere. Cold, hungry, and lost, the young pup must face the world alone.

Will she ever find her boy again?
