Nothing ever seems to be normal in David's life. If he isn't struggling with the problem of his lingering attraction to his ex-wife, Vivian, he's battling dimensional monsters who are trying to take over the city. But then, to add to his problems, his child ward, Simone, mysteriously disappears and, when she's found, she has no idea of what happened to her. This would be peculiar enough by itself, but it happens again and again, despite everyone's attempts to prevent it. When the answer is finally discovered, it turns out to be a case of truth being stranger than fiction, because the one person they trust the most, turns out to be not quite as authentic as they had believed.
