Death Takes the Living — Miles Burton

The Rev. Jonathan Denby, a young clergyman with influential connections but humble aspirations, secures the quiet country parish of Clynde as his first living. On the night of his arrival at the ramshackle old rectory he mysteriously disappears. Scotland Yard is called in and Inspector Arnold has a thorny time, even though supported by his friend Desmond Merrion.
