THIN ICE
Washington, D.C., private investigator Leo McFarlin isn't rich or busy enough to turn away clients who don't really seem to have much of a case--clients like Irene Liston. A beautiful, cold-as-ice "skating mom," she has big plans for Debbie, her teenage daughter. And she's not about to let some threatening letters come between Debbie and her quest for the sport's top prize.
Irene believes jealous competitors are behind the threats. But when someone sabotages Debbie's skates, nearly killing the girl in the process, Leo begins to feel the chill of something bigger and more dangerous. Even Irene's own past as a figure skater has a darker side--as does her affair with a prominent senator who is funding Debbie's training costs. And when Leo discovers the rink's owner murdered, and then finds himself dodging a hail of bullets meant just for him, he knows he's skating a dangerous line between life and death. . .
