The trouble couldn't have come at a worse time. Lark Drummond's luxury hotel is packed with hundreds of birding convention-goers. Her employees are driving her crazy. And now her friend and business partner, Esther, has cancelled the hotel's coffee shipment--and refuses to explain why. To take her mind off her troubles, Lark agrees to accompany her friend Rachel Stanhope on an afternoon birdwatching excursion. But their outing turns ugly when Lark peers out of her spotting scope--and witnesses Esther's murder.
