Dean Hunter enjoyed his life, living like a rock star while traveling the world, as one of the top stars of the Galactic Wrestling Association, after growing up with wealth and privilege in Heart's Destiny, Texas. Allissa Walters grew up in a trailer park about an hour outside of Las Vegas. But instead of stripping, or becoming a prostitute, like many of the women she knew growing up, Allissa took every modeling or acting gig she could find. She got lucky when one of her first gigs turned out to be as a ring girl for a mixed martial arts fight, and she caught the eye of a local fight promoter, who was looking for women to work in his independent wrestling promotion.

It took almost a year to save up the money from her modeling gigs to pay him to train her to become a professional wrestler. But from the first moment she stepped inside a squared circle, Allissa was hooked on the adrenaline of performing. She soaked up every lesson in the ring like a sponge, dreaming of the day she'd be good enough to work on bigger shows with a worldwide promotion.

She finally achieved her dream when she got a try-out match with the Galactic Wrestling Association. She signed a contract with them that night and took off traveling with the GWA the next day.

Unfortunately, dreams sometimes come true with a side dish of nightmares. She could handle the flirty, male wrestlers hitting on her. If she ignored them, they eventually backed off. She could even handle the booker, who tried to get a little handsy. She was a trained fighter, after all, so spraining his wrist, as she got away from his hands, was simple. And more than enough to teach him to keep his hands to himself. But she wasn't sure what to do when she found herself the target of a stalker.

Dean was confused by what he'd done wrong to cause the woman of his dreams to hate him. But months after Allissa had come to work with the GWA, she was still doing everything she could to avoid him. None of his typical flirting techniques had worked. Neither had enlisting the help of the matchmaking women, who had recently paired off with his twin brother and best friend and now worked with Allissa closely enough to become her best friends. Even contriving situations to spend time with her had backfired.

But when Dean found out Allissa was in danger from a stalker, he was determined to protect her, whether she liked it or not. He just hoped there really was a fine line between love and hate, so maybe he could convince Allissa to cross it with him.
