Computer genius and on-line gambler, Arnold Gold has been forced to live a clandestine life under an assumed name, Travis Taylor, after narrowly escaping death by terrorists he exposed. As far as anyone, including his lawyer Palmer Davidson, knows, Arnold died in the fiery explosion that destroyed his home.

A year later, an article appears in al Jazeera claiming that Arnold's remains were never found in the ashes of his Seattle home. The source of the information appears to be a leak within the FBI. Soon after the article appears, the CIA picks up chatter that Arnold is now being hunted by a band of terrorists led by Naseem Farhad (aka Breeze). FBI agent Gary Fisher believes by using Arnold as bait, he can neutralize Farhad and her jihadists. But where is Arnold?

Suspecting that Davidson is his best chance to find Arnold, he warns the lawyer of the threat to Arnold's life. But Arnold vanished without leaving Davidson a hint as to where he might be.

Although he is living a comfortable live in Honolulu, Arnold wants nothing more than to regain his actual identity and resume his previous life. In particular, he wants desperately to explore any chance of a relationship with Rachael, the woman he has always secretly loved. But to do so, he must find a way to eliminate Farhad and her jihadists.
